DZWatch News has received reports of impending severe weather conditions affecting at least 15 provinces across the nation this weekend. The National Meteorology Office has issued a special weather advisory, forecasting thunderstorms and strong winds for both Saturday and Sunday.
The advisory indicates that rainfall will, at times, be heavy and thundery, with the possibility of localized hail and powerful gusts of wind. The alert, classified as ‘Orange’ level, warns of significant rainfall accompanied by thunder across several regions.
The provinces specifically mentioned in the initial advisory include Tlemcen, Sidi Bel Abbes, Saida, Mascara, Relizane, Mostaganem, Oran, and Ain Temouchent. This first alert is valid from 6:00 AM Saturday until 9:00 PM Saturday. Rainfall amounts are expected to range between 20 and 30 millimeters.
A second weather system is expected to impact the provinces of Chlef, Ain Defla, Tipaza, Algiers, Boumerdes, Blida, and Medea. Rainfall is anticipated to begin around 3:00 PM this Saturday and continue through Sunday afternoon, with similar accumulations of 20 to 30 millimeters expected.
