Hanoune Praises President’s Decision on Irregular Algerian Youth Abroad

Algiers – Louisa Hanoune, Secretary-General of the Workers’ Party, has commended President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s recent decision to address the situation of Algerian youth living abroad in precarious and irregular circumstances.

In a statement released Friday, Hanoune lauded the move as a significant step towards protecting the rights and well-being of Algerian citizens facing hardship overseas. She emphasized the importance of providing these young individuals with a pathway to regularize their status and access essential services.

“This is a welcome and necessary intervention,” Hanoune stated. “The President’s decision demonstrates a commitment to supporting our citizens who find themselves in vulnerable situations abroad. It offers them a chance to rebuild their lives and contribute positively to society.”

The President’s initiative aims to provide a framework for Algerian youth living abroad without proper documentation to regularize their status through a streamlined process. This includes access to consular services, legal assistance, and potential opportunities for repatriation and reintegration into Algerian society.

The Workers’ Party has long advocated for greater protection and support for Algerian citizens living abroad, particularly those facing economic hardship and legal challenges. Hanoune expressed hope that the President’s decision would lead to a comprehensive and sustainable solution for addressing the root causes of irregular migration and ensuring the well-being of all Algerians, regardless of their location.

Further details on the implementation of the President’s decision are expected to be released by relevant government ministries in the coming days.
