Today, the President of the Republic initiated a working and inspection visit to the Tindouf province by laying the foundation stone for the primary processing plant of iron ore extracted from the “Gara Djebilet” mine. Gara Djebilet mining investment Algeria .

This project represents the largest mining investment in Algeria since its independence, with reserves estimated at about 3.5 billion tons of iron.

According to the national radio, this structural project will undergo several phases extending to 2040. In the first phase, 2 to 3 million tons of iron ore will be extracted annually and transported by land. The second phase will commence after the completion of a railway line, enabling the mine to operate at full capacity, extracting 40 to 50 million tons annually.

This monumental project will initially create about 3,000 jobs and will lead to the development of related artisanal professions.

It’s noteworthy that the President arrived at the “Raid Faraj” Tindouf airport, accompanied by the Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army, Lieutenant General Saïd Chengriha. They listened to the national anthem and reviewed formations from various branches of the National People’s Army, which rendered him a military salute, in the presence of local authorities, security officials, and regional dignitaries.
