Setif, Algeria – A tragic traffic accident in Setif province has resulted in one fatality and seven injuries, according to local authorities. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon on Provincial Road 113, connecting the towns of Khelil and Ras El Ma, within the Khelil district.
Civil Protection units from Khelil, reinforced by a team from the main Setif unit, responded to the scene at approximately 3:52 PM local time. Preliminary reports indicate a head-on collision between two passenger vehicles.
An elderly woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Among the injured are a family of four – a man, his wife, and their two children – as well as three other men. One of the injured individuals is reported to be in critical condition.
Emergency medical teams provided immediate assistance to the injured at the crash site before transporting them to the emergency department of the Setif University Hospital Center for further treatment. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the collision.
