Traders’ Union Praises Outcomes of PM’s Meeting

Algiers, January 17, 2026 – The General Union of Algerian Traders and Craftsmen (UGCAA) has lauded the results of a key meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sifi Gherib.

In a statement released today, the UGCAA emphasized that the meeting demonstrates the government’s commitment to fostering constructive dialogue and strengthening trust between state institutions and representatives of social partners.

The statement described the meeting as a significant political and institutional milestone. The Prime Minister, according to the UGCAA, announced the launch of joint workshops with a clear timeline, aimed at addressing professional and social concerns, particularly within the trade, transport, and services sectors.
