Tlemcen’s Lalla Setti Plateau Set for Revitalization

Tlemcen, Algeria – A significant investment of 75 million Algerian dinars has been allocated to rehabilitate the Lalla Setti plateau, a popular tourist destination in Tlemcen.

Local authorities confirmed that funding has been secured from the Fund to Support the Socio-Economic Development of Local Communities. The allocated budget will be directed towards comprehensive improvements, including the renovation of play areas, replacement of urban furniture, landscaping of green spaces, and enhancement of public lighting.

The revitalization project also includes the restoration of the plateau’s fountain system, expansion of the lake’s irrigation system, and the addition of new water features to the terrace area. Officials stated that work has already commenced and is expected to be completed by the end of the first quarter of this year. The goal is to enhance the quality of public services offered at this key tourist attraction.

In related news, ongoing maintenance work on the Lalla Setti cable car, which began last March, continues. This includes the rehabilitation of the pylons and cables to meet stringent technical standards. The extensive overhaul is necessary as the cable car has exceeded its recommended operational lifespan of 24,000 hours, according to international safety and security guidelines.

The cable car is projected to resume operations by the end of the first half of the year, well in time for the upcoming summer season. The revitalization efforts aim to ensure that Lalla Setti plateau remains a premier destination for both local and international visitors.
