A groundbreaking national initiative is set to empower 1,000 promising young Algerian entrepreneurs, announced a senior official at the Ministry of Youth. This unique program aims to cultivate the next generation of project leaders and active contributors to Algerian society.
According to Ramadhan Yakhlif, a central director at the Ministry, the initiative, spearheaded by Minister of Youth Mustapha Hidaoui, will provide comprehensive support to young project holders. The selected participants will undergo a year-long intensive training program, featuring national and regional modules led by renowned national and international experts.
“Following the training, each participant will be responsible for sharing their newly acquired expertise with 30 other young individuals within youth clubs and centers,” Yakhlif explained. This cascading effect is expected to indirectly benefit up to 30,000 young Algerians.
The program targets individuals aged 18 to 28, ensuring age proximity and focused training content. The curriculum will encompass various fields, including politics, diplomacy, culture, media, and sports, with the goal of enhancing participants’ skills and enabling them to actively contribute to national development programs and societal progress.
“The Ministry’s strategy for addressing the concerns of young people is primarily based on increasing the attractiveness of youth institutions and attracting this broad segment of the population,” Yakhlif emphasized. This initiative takes into account the interests of Algerian youth, particularly their inclinations towards scientific, cultural, digital, technological, and artificial intelligence activities.
Furthermore, Yakhlif unveiled a new vision for enhancing the role of youth and dedicated spaces, moving beyond traditional approaches that focused on limited age groups. Activities for youth over 18 were often confined to entertainment and youth exchanges. He noted that since 2025, the Ministry has launched a large-scale program to rehabilitate a significant number of youth institutions and spaces, with initial positive responses indicating the success of this reformative vision.
Yakhlif stressed that the Ministry is preparing to launch a new program in 2026, supported by substantial financial resources allocated under the new finance law. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to investing in the future of Algeria’s youth.
