Algeria Prioritizes African Cooperation in Foreign Policy

N’Djamena – Algeria is placing African cooperation at the heart of its foreign policy agenda, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune affirmed on Wednesday.

Speaking from N’Djamena, President Tebboune emphasized Algeria’s commitment to fostering stronger ties with its African neighbors, highlighting the continent’s vast natural resources as a key driver for sustainable economic and social development. He stressed that realizing this potential hinges on responsible management and optimal utilization of these resources.

“Algeria firmly believes in the power of African collaboration,” President Tebboune stated. “We see the immense potential within our continent, and we are dedicated to working alongside our brothers and sisters to unlock that potential for the benefit of all Africans.”

The President further elaborated on Algeria’s vision for a prosperous and self-reliant Africa, highlighting the importance of intra-African trade, investment, and knowledge sharing. He underscored the need for African nations to work together to address common challenges, such as climate change, poverty, and insecurity.

This renewed emphasis on African cooperation reflects Algeria’s longstanding commitment to Pan-Africanism and its belief in the collective strength of the continent. Algeria has consistently advocated for African solutions to African problems and has played a leading role in promoting peace, security, and development across the region.

The President’s remarks come as Algeria continues to strengthen its economic and diplomatic ties with various African nations. Recent initiatives include increased investment in infrastructure projects, enhanced trade agreements, and greater cooperation on security matters. Algeria’s commitment to African cooperation is expected to further solidify its position as a key player in the continent’s development and integration.
