Algiers, January 21, 2026 – The Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, Said Saioud, received the Secretary General of the Arab Air Transport Union (AATU), Abdel Wahab Teffaha, at the ministry headquarters on Wednesday evening.
The meeting served as an opportunity to explore avenues for strengthening and developing joint cooperation in areas of mutual interest, particularly in the field of air transport. Discussions focused on enhancing collaboration to improve the efficiency and safety of air travel within the Arab region.
Minister Saioud emphasized Algeria’s commitment to fostering closer ties with Arab nations in the transport sector. He highlighted the importance of the AATU’s role in promoting cooperation and standardization across the region’s aviation industry.
The Secretary General of the AATU, Abdel Wahab Teffaha, expressed his appreciation for Algeria’s active participation in the Union’s activities. He lauded Algeria’s efforts to modernize its air transport infrastructure and improve its aviation services.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to working together to address the challenges facing the air transport sector and to capitalize on the opportunities for growth and development. They agreed to continue the dialogue and to explore concrete initiatives to further strengthen cooperation in the coming period.
