Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, was received today by the President of Chad, Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, in N’Djamena. This occurred during Arkab’s participation, as a representative of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in the International Exhibition of Mines, Quarries and Hydrocarbons, SIMICA Chad 2026.
During the meeting, Minister Arkab conveyed President Tebboune’s greetings to his Chadian counterpart and presented a written message expressing Algeria’s commitment to strengthening fraternal relations between the two countries and enhancing bilateral cooperation across various fields, particularly in strategic sectors of mutual interest.
The reception was attended by several Algerian officials, including the Algerian Ambassador to Chad, the Minister of Industry, Yahia Bachir, the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mourad Adjjal, as well as the CEO of Sonatrach, Noureddine Daoudi, and the CEO of GICA, Rabah Guessoum.
On this occasion, the Minister of State expressed Algeria’s appreciation for being chosen as the guest of honor for this edition of the exhibition, considering it clear evidence of the depth and strength of Algerian-Chadian relations and the shared history of trust and solidarity between the two nations.
For his part, the Chadian President conveyed his greetings and appreciation to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune through Minister Arkab, reiterating his country’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Algeria and supporting South-South African partnership. He also praised Algeria’s expertise, particularly in the fields of hydrocarbons, petrochemicals, and mines, as well as industry, especially cement production, affirming Chad’s desire to benefit from Algeria’s leading experience in these vital sectors.
This meeting reflects the increasing dynamism in Algerian-Chadian relations and the two countries’ efforts to expand the horizons of economic and investment cooperation in a way that serves joint development and strengthens African integration. Algeria continues to prioritize strengthening ties with key partners across the African continent.
