Algeria and Slovenia Vow to Boost Economic Ties

Algiers – Algeria and Slovenia have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening economic and trade exchanges, highlighting the existing strong historical relationship between the two nations.

The Speaker of the People’s National Assembly (APN), Brahim Boughali, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Algeria, Urška Kramberger Mendek, at the APN headquarters on Thursday. During the meeting, Boughali emphasized the deep historical ties between Algeria and Slovenia, stressing the need to further develop and elevate these relations.

According to a statement released by the lower house of parliament, Boughali underscored the importance of enhancing parliamentary cooperation and intensifying economic and trade exchanges to fully realize the potential and shared interests of both countries. He also referenced the visit of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to Slovenia last year, which he described as a pivotal moment that significantly boosted bilateral relations and opened promising avenues for enhanced cooperation across various sectors.

Boughali affirmed the Algerian legislative institution’s readiness to support all initiatives aimed at expanding cooperation and fostering coordination and dialogue between the parliaments of both nations.

Ambassador Kramberger Mendek commended the level of relations between Algeria and Slovenia, expressing her country’s desire to work towards consolidating bilateral ties, particularly in the economic and parliamentary spheres. She stated that this reflects the shared will of Algeria and Slovenia to build a strong and sustainable partnership. The Slovenian Ambassador added that Slovenia is keen to explore new opportunities for collaboration and investment in Algeria, particularly in sectors such as renewable energy, technology, and tourism.

The discussions also touched upon regional and international issues of mutual interest, further solidifying the commitment to dialogue and cooperation between the two nations.
