The Algerian National People’s Assembly Votes on the 2024 Finance Bill Today

According to a statement from the Assembly, a press conference will be held following the voting session, focusing on the key provisions of the bill and highlighting the efforts made by deputies in the study and enrichment of this important text.

The Finance Bill for 2024 anticipates an economic growth of 4.2%, with the bill being prepared based on a reference price of $60 per barrel of oil for the period 2024-2026, and $70 as an estimated market price for a barrel of crude oil. The bill projects that goods exports will reach $49.8 billion in 2024, while imports of goods are expected to increase by 7.1% compared to the closing predictions for 2023, reaching $43.5 billion.

Consequently, the trade balance is expected to record a surplus between 2024 and 2026, amounting to $6.3 billion in 2024, followed by $2.9 billion and $4.2 billion in 2025 and 2026, respectively.

The bill includes several legislative measures primarily aimed at maintaining the purchasing power of citizens, supporting investment, simplifying and digitizing tax procedures.
