Strong Winds Expected to Hit Several Algerian Provinces Saturday

DZWatch Exclusive: Several regions of Algeria are bracing for strong winds starting Saturday, according to a special weather bulletin issued by the National Meteorology Office. The bulletin warns of westerly to south-westerly winds with speeds ranging from 50 to 70 kilometers per hour, potentially reaching 80 kilometers per hour in certain areas.

The affected provinces in the central region include Tipaza, Algiers, Boumerdes, Tizi Ouzou, and Bejaia. The strong winds are expected to begin at 6:00 AM Saturday and persist until 7:00 AM Sunday.

A separate warning has been issued for the eastern provinces of Jijel and Skikda, where strong winds are anticipated to start at 9:00 AM Saturday and continue until 10:00 AM Sunday.

In western Algeria, the provinces of Tlemcen, Ain Temouchent, Oran, Mostaganem, and Chlef are also under alert. The meteorological services predict that the winds in these areas will continue until 7:00 PM Saturday, with gusts potentially reaching 80 kilometers per hour.

Authorities are urging citizens in the affected regions to exercise caution and avoid direct exposure to the strong winds. The winds could cause disruptions to traffic and the transportation of goods, as well as potentially impact exposed structures.
