DZWatch Exclusive: Algeria is bracing for a spell of inclement weather as several provinces are forecast to experience heavy rain and snowfall tomorrow, Saturday. According to meteorological reports, the northern regions are particularly vulnerable to thunderstorms and significant precipitation.
Snowfall is anticipated in mountainous areas exceeding 900 meters in altitude. Provinces expected to be affected by snowfall include Tlemcen, Sidi Bel Abbes, Naama, Tiaret, Tissemsilt, Saida, El Bayadh, Laghouat, Djelfa, Medea, Bouira, Blida, Bejaia, Tizi Ouzou, Setif, Batna, Oum El Bouaghi, Khenchela, Guelma, Souk Ahras, Tebessa, and Ain Defla. Residents in these areas are advised to take necessary precautions.
Rainfall will be concentrated in the western regions, specifically in the provinces of Ghilizane, Mostaganem, Oran, Mascara, and Tlemcen. Motorists should exercise caution due to reduced visibility and slippery road conditions.
Coastal temperatures are expected to range between 13 and 17 degrees Celsius, while inland areas will experience temperatures between 6 and 16 degrees Celsius. Wind speeds could reach up to 60 km/h across affected regions. The southern provinces will experience a mix of sunny and rainy weather, with temperatures ranging from 11 to 27 degrees Celsius and wind speeds potentially reaching 60 km/h.
