Washington D.C. – A digitally altered image of former U.S. President Donald Trump entering Greenland alongside a penguin has been released by the White House, sparking considerable online discussion.
The image, posted on the White House’s official social media account, depicts Trump walking into Greenland with a penguin carrying an American flag by his side. The image also prominently features the Greenlandic flag and the caption “Embrace the Penguin.”
The release of the image follows President Trump’s renewed calls for the United States to assert control over the island nation. Speaking at the Davos Economic Forum in Switzerland last week, Trump stated, “No nation or group of nations is capable of securing Greenland, except the United States.”
Trump further elaborated on his stance, emphasizing the role of NATO allies in defending their territories. “It is the duty of every NATO ally to defend its territory. We are a superpower, far greater than people realize,” he asserted.
In his remarks, the former President also criticized Denmark, labeling the nation as “ungrateful” for its refusal to relinquish control of Greenland. He argued that Denmark owes the United States for its defense during World War II.
The White House’s post has generated a wide range of reactions. While some view it as a humorous commentary on the ongoing debate surrounding Greenland’s status, others see it as a provocative statement regarding U.S. foreign policy. The long-term implications of these statements and imagery remain to be seen.
