Heavy Snowfall Warning Issued for Multiple Algerian Provinces

DZWatch Exclusive: The national weather service has issued a severe weather warning for heavy snowfall across several provinces, urging citizens to exercise extreme caution, especially those traveling on mountain roads. The advisory was released earlier today.

A special weather bulletin indicates that heavy snow is expected to continue on elevations above 1000 meters, with accumulations potentially reaching 15 centimeters. This weather pattern is anticipated to persist until midday tomorrow, Sunday. The provinces of Tlemcen and Sidi Bel Abbes are particularly affected.

A separate warning highlights the risk of significant snowfall, with accumulations up to 10 centimeters, starting from 6:00 PM today, Saturday, and continuing until midday tomorrow, Sunday. This alert applies to the provinces of Blida, Medea, Bouira, Tizi Ouzou, and Bejaia.

Furthermore, the provinces of Naama, Tiaret, Tissemsilt, Saida, El Bayadh, Laghouat, and Djelfa are also forecast to experience heavy snowfall on higher ground (above 1000 meters), with potential accumulations of up to 10 centimeters. This period of intense snowfall is expected to begin at 9:00 AM Saturday and last until midday on Sunday.
