The National Liberation Front (FLN) party has strongly condemned the ongoing hostile and systematic campaigns waged by French public media against Algeria. The FLN considers these practices unacceptable and indicative of the media’s involvement in a smear campaign aligned with far-right agendas.
The party asserted that the content broadcast by France Télévisions regarding Algeria has devolved from journalism into a tool for public manipulation, incitement, and distortion of facts. Allegedly, the media outlet is exploiting its public service mandate to disseminate misinformation targeting Algeria’s sovereignty and institutions – a dangerous decline that exposes what the FLN described as the media’s “moral and professional bankruptcy,” placing it in direct opposition to a sovereign and independent nation.
According to the FLN, the channel has abandoned basic professional standards and become an instrument for settling political scores. The party suggests this media failure reveals the panic and confusion within certain French circles that have yet to accept the reality of a modern Algeria – a state with independent sovereign decision-making that rejects guardianship or dictation.
The FLN holds French official institutions fully politically and ethically responsible for this dangerous slide, asserting that some parties in France remain captive to a bankrupt colonial discourse that is obsolete. The party emphasized that attempts at defamation and media blackmail will not undermine Algeria but will only strengthen its resolve and adherence to its sovereign choices.
The FLN views this hostile behavior as a reflection of the unease surrounding Algeria’s comprehensive progress and its restoration of its regional and international standing. The party concluded its statement by reaffirming its full and unconditional support for the country’s political leadership, expressing its absolute support for all sovereign decisions aimed at building a strong, independent, and respected state. Algeria, which achieved its independence through sacrifice, will not be intimidated by smear campaigns and will not compromise its sovereignty, regardless of the media noise.
