Riyad Mahrez Among World’s Top 10 Highest-Paid Players in 2025

Algerian international Riyad Mahrez continues to achieve significant milestones, this time off the pitch. According to a 2025 ranking, Mahrez has secured a spot among the top ten highest-paid football players globally, boasting an estimated income of $52 million.

This figure underscores his prominent position within the elite economic sphere of world football, reflecting financial success that mirrors his sporting achievements. His lucrative contract with Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli plays a significant role in this achievement.

Ronaldo and Messi Lead, Mahrez Surpasses Global Stars

As anticipated, Cristiano Ronaldo maintains his reign at the top of the highest-paid list for the third consecutive year, earning a staggering $260 million. The bulk of this income stems from his $200 million contract with Al-Nassr, supplemented by $60 million from endorsements and investments. Lionel Messi follows with $130 million, then Karim Benzema with $115 million, ahead of Kylian Mbappé ($95 million) and Erling Haaland ($78 million).

Mahrez, however, secured a high ranking amongst these global stars, alongside prominent names such as Neymar ($60 million), Vinicius Junior ($58 million), Mohamed Salah ($54 million), and Sadio Mané ($50 million).

A Lucrative Contract with Al-Ahli Saudi

A substantial portion of Mahrez’s income is attributed to his contract with Al-Ahli Saudi, which guarantees him over €1 million per week. This equates to approximately €52 million annually as a fixed salary, excluding bonuses and endorsements. This contract grants the Algerian winger a distinguished status in the Saudi League, positioning him among the most economically valuable players in the region.

A Balanced Path Between Europe and Saudi Arabia

Mahrez’s career trajectory, from the French second division to European prominence with Manchester City, and subsequently to the Saudi League, showcases his ability to manage his career in a balanced manner, achieving both sporting and financial success. This makes him a model for the modern player, combining on-field performance with off-field market value.

Long-Term Stability Until 2027

Mahrez’s contract with Al-Ahli extends until the summer of 2027, providing him with long-term stability. At 34, Mahrez remains a significant reference point, not only for his sporting prowess but also for his financial standing among football players. His journey exemplifies the rewards available to players who excel both on and off the field.
