Algiers – The Council of Ministers, presided over by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, convened and issued a series of directives impacting vital sectors, focusing on the implementation of public policies and the enhancement of economic and social development.
President Tebboune emphasized the need for rigorous field monitoring of the implementation of Cabinet and government decisions. He tasked the Prime Minister with ensuring the effective application of these decisions, moving beyond mere administrative or theoretical handling, to guarantee a direct and positive impact on the lives of citizens.
In a move to ease the financial burden on pilgrims, President Tebboune announced a reduction of 10 million centimes in Hajj costs for Algerian pilgrims this season. This brings the total cost down to 82 million centimes from the previous 92 million centimes.
On the economic front, President Tebboune underscored the strategic importance of the Wad Amizour zinc and lead mine project. He directed that the project be launched in March 2026, citing its potential as a significant economic driver, a source of new job creation, and a contributor to regional development and the strengthening of the national economy.
In the realm of sports, the President instructed the Minister of Sports to convey his warmest congratulations to the national football team, including all members of the technical staff, led by coach Vladimir Petkovic. He wished them success in the upcoming World Cup finals.
