Two individuals have been killed and six others wounded following a series of Israeli strikes targeting areas in eastern and southern Lebanon. The reported attacks, totaling 14, have raised concerns about escalating tensions in the region.
The strikes focused on multiple locations, including the Al-Jabour area, Wadi Barghaz, the heights of Mount Rihan in southern Lebanon, and the Janta heights in the Bekaa Valley in the east. The Lebanese National News Agency confirmed the Israeli air force conducted the raids, impacting areas such as the heights of Meidoun, Wadi Barghaz, Al-Jabour, Kessarat al-Aroush, the Rihan heights, and Louaizeh.
Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health confirmed the casualties, stating that the deaths and injuries resulted from strikes on three towns across southern and eastern Lebanon.
The Israeli military stated that it conducted strikes targeting what it described as Hezbollah military infrastructure within Lebanon. They further claimed to have eliminated a local Hezbollah commander in the village of Arzoun in the south, alleging he was responsible for the group’s artillery operations.
The ongoing Israeli military operations in Lebanon represent a continued violation of the ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah, which has been in effect since November 2024. These violations have resulted in numerous casualties and widespread destruction. Since October 2023, Israeli attacks on Lebanon have resulted in thousands of deaths and injuries.
Furthermore, Israel continues to occupy five Lebanese hills seized during the last war, adding to other Lebanese territories under Israeli occupation for decades. The situation remains tense, with the potential for further escalation.
