Algiers, January 27, 2026 – Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, today received Senior Advisor to the US President for Africa, Arab Affairs, and the Middle East, Mosaad Boulos, at the Ministry headquarters. Boulos is currently on an official visit to Algeria.
Minister Attaf held a private meeting with Mr. Boulos, followed by an expanded meeting including members of both the Algerian and American delegations. The meeting provided an opportunity to review various aspects of Algerian-American relations and to discuss ways to strengthen them and elevate them to the highest possible levels.
Both parties emphasized the importance of strengthening the existing strategic dialogue between Algeria and the United States. They reaffirmed the need to continue the positive momentum that characterizes the bilateral partnership, particularly in economic fields.
Furthermore, the two sides exchanged views on the most pressing issues in the Arab world and the African continent, notably developments in Libya, the Sahel and Sahara regions, as well as the Western Sahara issue. The discussions highlighted a shared commitment to addressing regional challenges through dialogue and cooperation.
The visit underscores the ongoing efforts to foster closer ties between Algeria and the United States across a range of strategic areas.
