The Iranian government, through its spokesperson Fatima Mohajerani, has asserted its preference for resolving regional and international issues through diplomatic channels. However, Tehran simultaneously emphasized its complete readiness to respond to any threats it may face.
In statements made Tuesday, Mohajerani explained that the government’s efforts are focused on securing regional calm within the framework of what she termed “international peace.” She stressed that diplomatic avenues remain the preferred option for protecting Iran’s national interests. However, she also clarified that prioritizing diplomacy does not preclude other options from remaining on the table for the Iranian government.
The spokesperson affirmed that all state authorities are working in full coordination and under unified leadership. She pointed out that Iran’s strength lies in its national solidarity and its ability to confront what she described as hostile and dangerous circumstances. “We are fully prepared, and while maintaining our national pride, we will overcome these difficult circumstances with complete readiness from all authorities,” she added.
These statements come amid escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington, fueled by recent protests in Iran and coinciding with repeated threats of military action from US President Donald Trump.
While tensions remain high, the Iranian government’s message conveys a dual approach: a commitment to diplomatic solutions while simultaneously signaling a strong deterrent against any perceived aggression. This delicate balance reflects the complex geopolitical landscape in which Iran currently operates. The coming days will be crucial in determining whether diplomacy can prevail or if tensions will further escalate.
