Algerian international defender Youcef Atal has received messages of support from the President of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF), Walid Sadi, and the national team coach, Vladimir Petkovic, following a serious injury.
Atal sustained the injury last Saturday during the Qatari-Emirati Super Cup final, where his club, Al Sadd of Qatar, faced Shabab Al Ahli Dubai. Initial assessments suggest that the injury could potentially end his season prematurely and jeopardize his chances of participating in the upcoming World Cup with the Algerian national team next summer.
The Algerian Football Federation, led by Walid Sadi, along with the entire national team staff under Vladimir Petkovic, conveyed their wishes for a speedy recovery to the ‘Les Verts‘ full-back. This message was shared through the federation’s official social media channels.
Al Sadd SC also released details about Atal’s injury, confirming in an official statement that the player suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in his right foot. The club stated that Atal will require surgery in the coming days, with the duration of his absence from the field yet to be determined.
The entire DZWatch team wishes Youcef Atal a swift and full recovery.
