Algeria Ascends: AlSat-3B Launch Crowns a Historic Week of Strategic Triumphs and Economic Renaissance

In a monumental display of technological sovereignty and national progress, Algeria has firmly asserted its leadership on the global stage this Saturday, January 31, 2026. The headline achievement of the day is the successful launch of the AlSat-3B remote sensing satellite, a triumph supervised by General Saïd Chengriha, Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army, from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in China. This strategic milestone, the second of its kind in less than a month, underscores the rapid advancement of the Algerian space program and the deepening strategic partnership with China.

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and President Xi Jinping exchanged warm congratulations, describing the event as a pivotal step in the “New Algeria” project—a vision committed to mastering aerospace technology and securing national data independence. This achievement is not merely scientific; it is a testament to the capabilities of Algerian engineers and the state’s unwavering commitment to modernization.

Simultaneously, the economic engine of the nation is roaring. Algiers witnessed the grand opening of the first international “Made in DZ” exhibition, showcasing over 150 local companies. This event highlights the success of the government’s import-substitution policy and the high quality of Algerian manufacturing. Adding to this economic optimism, the United Nations has officially praised the “Algerian Model” for startup support, recognizing the nation as a regional leader in digital entrepreneurship and innovation.

While reaching for the stars, the state remains vigilant on the ground. Amidst heavy snowfall affecting six provinces, the National Meteorological Office and Civil Protection units have demonstrated exceptional readiness, executing over 530 interventions to ensure citizen safety. From the halls of the UN Security Council to the boxing rings of Jordan, Algeria continues to project power, stability, and excellence.
