In a recent interview with journalist Khadija Ben Kenna on the “Athir” platform affiliated with Al Jazeera, Algeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, reiterated the enduring issue between Algeria and Zionist occupation regarding Palestinian territories.

Minister Attaf reaffirms Algeria’s commitment to the two-state solution and the establishment of a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative.

During the discussion on Israeli occupation, Attaf invoked Algeria’s stance on South Africa’s apartheid, emphasizing Algeria’s support for the National Conference, Nelson Mandela, and their struggle against racial discrimination. He highlighted post-apartheid engagements with South African officials.

On a different note, the Algerian Foreign Minister addressed the strained relations with Rabat since August 2021, describing them as “unsatisfactory.”

In a contrasting context, the spokesperson pointed out the rejuvenation of Algerian diplomacy through young talents, providing opportunities for dynamic individuals. The activation of women’s roles and the enhancement of their presence in Algerian diplomatic affairs were also emphasized.
