Algiers security forces have dismantled a criminal group consisting of eight individuals specialized in the trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances. The operation led to the seizure of approximately 900,000 psychotropic pills, including Pregabalin and Ecstasy, as well as 35 kilograms of treated cannabis.
The operation was carried out following the precise exploitation of information regarding a criminal group preparing to distribute significant quantities of psychotropic substances during the month of Ramadan. Investigators were able to identify and arrest the members successively, seizing the drugs and psychotropic substances in the western suburbs of the capital.
The operation also resulted in the recovery of 104 million centimes in criminal proceeds. The suspects have been presented before the public prosecutor at the Sidi M’Hamed specialized judicial pole.
