President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, signed a presidential decree establishing an institution for the production of information and communication technology tools, according to the latest issue of the Official Gazette.
The new institution has been placed under the supervision of the Ministry of National Defense, with its headquarters in El Harrach, Algiers province.
The institution is specifically tasked with the design, production, and development of information and communication technology tools.
The institution also participates in the application of standardization and quality control of materials, semi-finished products, and complete and fragmented equipment related to its field of activity.
The institution may also carry out any purchase, sale, import, and export operations related to its field of activity and its development.
The institution is managed by a general officer or a senior officer appointed in accordance with the regulations in force at the Ministry of National Defense. His duties are terminated in the same manner.
