Last week, the Algiers provincial security services, represented by the Mobile Judicial Police Unit of Bab Ezzouar under the Dar El Beïda administrative district security, dismantled a criminal network consisting of three individuals involved in the trafficking of psychotropic substances.
According to a statement from the National Security, the operation was carried out following intensive field investigations that allowed investigators to uncover the activities of a criminal network specializing in the illegal trafficking of psychotropic substances. The members were identified and subsequently arrested, with the seized substances found hidden inside the suspects’ residences.
The operation, conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, resulted in the seizure of 6,150 psychotropic capsules, 2 million centimes in proceeds from the sales, and a vehicle used to transport the drugs, the statement added.
