The Algerian Investment Promotion Agency issued a statement on Monday inviting Algerian economic operators active in the food industry to participate in the international food exhibition “SIAL Canada 2026.” The event is scheduled to take place from April 29 to May 1, 2026, in Montreal, Canada, with the aim of exploring North American market trends and export opportunities for Algerian products.
The statement explained that the event, which will be hosted at the Palais des Congrès de Montréal, is one of the most prominent international demonstrations in the food industry. It is expected to attract more than 1,000 exhibitors from 44 countries, alongside approximately 21,000 professional visitors, including importers, distributors, retail chains, restaurants, and institutional actors.
The exhibition covers several fields of activity, notably food products, beverages, dairy products, and fresh produce, in addition to distribution chains, restaurants, packaging, logistics, and supply chains. The agency emphasized that this event represents an opportunity for Algerian companies to strengthen the presence of national products in the Canadian and American markets and to establish international commercial partnerships, as well as to explore North American market trends and export opportunities.
