The Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, Saïd Saayoud, announced that a large number of newly imported buses are currently available, noting that a meeting will be held in the coming days to discuss their utilization.
During a meeting with transport union representatives on Tuesday, Saayoud revealed that a meeting will take place soon under the supervision of the Prime Minister to finalize the procedures for benefiting from these new buses.
Regarding the new traffic law, the Minister of Interior and Transport emphasized that “the state is here to assist transporters, not to punish them,” pointing out that it has been decided to permanently decommission buses that are 30 years old.
It is worth noting that President Abdelmadjid Tebboune decided to import 10,000 new passenger buses to replace the aging fleet, in addition to the immediate and intensive import of various types of vehicle tires.
