First message from the new Iranian Supreme Leader

The new Iranian Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, stated in his first official message on Thursday that his country has successfully thwarted attempts to divide it. He also advised regional nations on the necessity of closing American military bases.

In a statement broadcast by Iranian television, Mojtaba Khamenei emphasized his belief in friendship with neighboring countries, while noting that Iran is compelled to continue targeting U.S. bases within those nations. Khamenei stressed that Iranian forces only target American bases in the region, adding that Iran was attacked from enemy bases in neighboring countries and is therefore forced to respond.

The statement further noted that Iran will not hesitate to seek revenge for crimes committed by the enemy, particularly the crime at the Minab school. Khamenei recommended that neighboring countries close U.S. bases and emphasized that the Iranian people must remain active in all fields to foil enemy plots. He also called for utilizing all available capabilities to close the Strait of Hormuz.

He stated that strong strikes have dispelled the enemy’s illusions regarding the possibility of controlling or partitioning the country. He warned that if the state of war continues, new fronts will be activated where the enemy lacks experience. Khamenei declared that there would be specific retaliation for every martyr among the Iranian people. He concluded by noting that Iran shares borders with 15 countries and has always desired, and continues to seek, constructive and friendly relations with all its neighbors.
