Praise for the Quality of National Production of Confectionery Supplies

The Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Kamel Rezig, praised the quality of national production for confectionery supplies, emphasizing that it has reached an advanced level in terms of quality and packaging. This statement was made during the opening of an exhibition for confectionery products and supplies on Thursday, alongside the Minister of Internal Trade and National Market Regulation, Amal Abdellatif, and the Delegate Wali of the Hussein Dey administrative district, Najia Nassib.

Rezig explained that a number of these products are currently being exported to several countries after producing companies successfully met the needs of the national market and supplied Algerian families before gradually moving toward exportation. The minister considered that competition among companies in the export field reflects the development of this sector, noting that the results achieved are part of the government’s policy to implement the program of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

For her part, the Minister of Internal Trade and National Market Regulation confirmed that her ministry attaches special importance to promoting national products and ensuring that the needs of the national market for various consumer goods are met. She explained that this event reflects the dynamism of the food industry sector in Algeria, particularly through the diversity and quality of the local products on display.

She added that the exhibition highlighted the availability of certain Algerian gluten-free products intended for those with celiac disease, which she said contributes to diversifying consumer goods and responding to the needs of different consumer groups. She also noted that the ministry works to support consumers by ensuring product quality, while also supporting local economic operators by facilitating procedures and encouraging initiatives that contribute to the development of the national economy.

The exhibition continues until March 16 at Les Sablettes Park in Algiers, with the participation of about 50 exhibitors, including producers and suppliers specializing in confectionery supplies, tools, decoration materials, packaging, and basic ingredients, as well as equipment related to this activity. Several banks and project support and entrepreneurship institutions are also participating.

Organized under the slogan “Local Quality and Export Prospects,” the event aims to support economic operators, encourage national production, and open new horizons for companies active in the confectionery industry to enter foreign markets.
