Eid al-Fitr: Union of Traders Calls for Strict Adherence to Duty Roster

The General Union of Algerian Traders and Artisans called on Monday, in a statement, traders, artisans, and service providers such as transporters and taxi drivers across various provinces of the country, to strictly adhere to the duty roster scheduled during the Eid al-Fitr holiday to ensure the continuity of commercial and service activities.

The union emphasized the necessity of resuming activity immediately after the end of the Eid holiday to maintain the normal flow of commercial and service movement and to avoid any disruption in market supply, embodying the spirit of professional responsibility.

The union also urged traders not covered by the duty roster to volunteer and open their shops to contribute to enhancing public service and facilitating citizens’ access to their basic needs, the statement added.

On the other hand, the union noted the spirit of sincere citizenship, civic sense, and responsible professional awareness shown by honest traders, artisans, and economic operators during the holy month of Ramadan, praising their commitment and discipline in supplying markets and their demonstrations of solidarity, particularly through charitable initiatives.

The organization reaffirmed its commitment to continue working and coordinating with public authorities and all partners to enhance the stability of the national market in service of the citizen and the national economy.
