The Ministry of National Defense released the operational report of the People’s National Army for the period from March 11 to 17, 2026. In the field of counter-terrorism, seven terrorists were eliminated, and seven Kalashnikov-type submachine guns, a quantity of ammunition, and other items were recovered in Tébessa, within the Fifth Military Region. Additionally, three support elements for terrorist groups were arrested during separate operations across the national territory.
Regarding the fight against organized crime, four armed smugglers were killed, and a Kalashnikov-type submachine gun was seized. Furthermore, 49 drug traffickers were arrested, and attempts to smuggle eight quintals and 22 kilograms of treated hashish across the border with Morocco were thwarted, along with the seizure of 3,712,969 hallucinogenic pills.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Salah, and In Guezzam, 237 individuals were arrested, and 35 vehicles, 241 generators, and 139 pressure hammers were seized, in addition to quantities of raw gold ore and equipment used in illegal mining operations. Meanwhile, 11 other individuals were arrested, and two machine guns, two submachine guns, seven hunting rifles, 78,781 liters of fuel, and six quintals of tobacco were seized during various operations.
In another context, the Coast Guard thwarted illegal migration attempts along the national coast, rescuing 111 people aboard traditional boats. Additionally, 463 illegal migrants of various nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
