The Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies announced the creation of “Sonelgaz International,” in implementation of the directives of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune aimed at consolidating the foundations of a diversified national economy integrated into its regional and international environment, and enhancing the access of national institutions to foreign markets, according to a ministry statement.
The statement noted that within the framework of implementing the directives of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to strengthen a diversified national economy and in line with the vision of the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies, which oversees the Sonelgaz Group, “Sonelgaz International” was established as a strategic tool to embody this ambitious orientation.
The ministry added that the creation of this new company comes in the context of the dynamics witnessed by the sector, particularly regarding the strengthening of its activities at the external level. This allows for the export of Sonelgaz’s expertise and services abroad and reinforces Algeria’s position as a reliable and active partner in its regional and international surroundings.
Sonelgaz International will be responsible for developing the group’s activities beyond national borders by exploring and exploiting investment and cooperation opportunities, especially in African markets and the Mediterranean region. It will seek to conclude strategic partnerships and provide value-added services, including engineering studies, implementation, operation, maintenance, knowledge transfer, and training.
The creation of this company also reflects the sector’s firm determination to keep pace with the transformations in the global energy market and to enhance Algeria’s international presence, relying on its significant human and technical expertise and the successful experiences accumulated in various fields of activity.
The energy and renewable energies sector reaffirmed its full commitment to implementing the directives of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and contributing effectively to supporting the path of economic openness and promoting non-hydrocarbon exports, in a way that serves sustainable national development and strengthens Algeria’s presence on the international stage.
