The Center for the Development of Renewable Energies received national and international experts on Tuesday for a technical visit aimed at supporting the development of national quality infrastructure in solar and wind energy technologies. This visit, conducted under the supervision of the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies, is part of the “Taqathy+” project.
This mission, which included expert consultant in legislation and regulation Issawi Mohamed Chaib and the head of the renewable energy component at the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) Reem Zibak, is part of a program partially funded by the Federal Republic of Germany and the European Union. It aims to strengthen national capacities in the areas of quality, reliability, and performance of renewable energy equipment.
The visit featured specialized technical sessions and field visits to observe calibration practices and the tracking of measuring devices within the center’s laboratories. These included the accredited pyranometer calibration laboratory for measuring solar radiation and the solar testing laboratory, as well as the photovoltaic panel testing laboratory, which is currently preparing for accreditation.
These activities took place in the presence of the center’s director, the heads of the three laboratories, and the quality management official. The participants reviewed various practices adopted to ensure measurement accuracy and improve equipment performance.
The visit also served as an opportunity to exchange expertise between various parties, allowing for the identification of areas for improvement and the reinforcement of efforts to establish quality standards in the renewable energy sector, thereby supporting Algeria’s energy transition process.
