Oran Hosts Industry and Export Pioneers

The eighth edition of the International Exhibition for Investment in Industry, Construction, Energy, Logistics, and Export (Algeria Invest Expo) opened on Thursday at the Mohamed Ben Ahmed International Convention Center in Oran, with the participation of 153 national and foreign exhibitors. The four-day economic event is organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Industry and initiated by the Sunflower Communication agency. It was inaugurated by Bouziane Mehmah, Director General of Quality Promotion, Innovation, and Industrial Security, representing the Ministry of Industry.

The opening ceremony was attended by local authorities, ambassadors, and representatives from several African countries, including Senegal, Angola, Mozambique, and Guinea. This edition hosts diplomatic missions from 15 African countries, as well as European bodies accredited in Algeria, aiming to enhance communication between exhibitors and professionals, highlight direct investment and export opportunities, and explore prospects for strengthening trade exchanges with Algeria.

Exhibition Commissioner Ahmed Haniche noted that the event includes approximately 130 national companies, both public and private, specializing in industry and export, representing more than 80 percent of the exhibitors. This is alongside foreign companies and branches of international firms operating in Algeria, particularly from China, Italy, Turkey, and India.

Haniche emphasized that the exhibition, which sees wide participation from public economic groups in the sectors of electrical industry, energy, electronics, chemistry, construction, wood, and mining, aims to create an effective dynamic among actors, encourage general sourcing and investment partnerships, and provide a space for exchange between professionals and economic operators.

He further stressed that the event falls within the framework of the exceptional dynamic of economic development witnessed by Algeria, characterized by the launch of major strategic projects in heavy industries and the promotion of a diversified economy outside of hydrocarbons.

An exhibition space has been allocated for 30 startups from universities and innovative initiatives, aiming to enhance their communication with economic actors, open funding opportunities, and realize their projects.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, seminars and discussions are being organized on several topics, including renewable energies, industrial development through sourcing, logistics and support for exporters, sustainable industry and carbon reduction, smart energy demand management, mutually beneficial partnerships, and the promotion of investment and export. A competition will also be held to honor projects with a positive impact in the fields of innovation, environment, and development.

Simultaneously, the African Construction, Infrastructure, and Technology Exhibition is being held under the slogan “Innovation, Technology, and Construction for Tomorrow’s Africa,” with the participation of national and African companies and operators specializing in construction, infrastructure, public works, roads, hydraulic works, sanitation, and urban planning.

Ahmed Haniche pointed out that this exhibition meets the demand of Algerian and African economic actors as well as diplomatic representatives. It serves as a meeting point for African professionals in the construction sector and major international companies, aiming to support development in Africa through bilateral meetings, the launch of new structural projects, and the completion of existing ones.

Thanks to its strategic location as a gateway to Africa and its commitment to development, Algeria plays a key role in promoting common African economic integration.
