Three days of national mourning

The Presidency of the Republic announced on Saturday evening a three-day national mourning period across the entire national territory.

According to a statement issued by the same services, this mourning follows the death of former President of the Republic, Mujahid Liamine Zéroual.

The statement added that the national mourning will be observed throughout the national territory and in diplomatic missions abroad, with the national flag flown at half-mast.

The Presidency announced on Saturday the passing of the former president at the age of 85 at the Mohamed Seghir Nekkache Military Hospital in the capital, following a long struggle with an incurable illness.
