Prime Minister Emphasizes Importance of Promoting Economic Exchanges Between Algeria and Serbia

Prime Minister Sifi Gharib praised the historical ties between Algeria and Serbia, which date back to the former Republic of Yugoslavia’s support for the glorious liberation revolution and its backing of the Algerian people’s struggle to regain national sovereignty and liberation from colonialism.

During his reception on Tuesday of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Djuro Matsot, the Prime Minister pointed out the importance of joint action to promote economic and trade exchanges between the two countries, which remain modest compared to their significant potential and capabilities in various fields.

In this context, the Prime Minister highlighted the economic reforms led by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, which have improved the business and investment climate in Algeria. He called on the Serbian partner to seize the political dynamics characterizing the relations between the two countries and the investment opportunities offered by the Algerian market to strengthen investments in Algeria, contributing to the promotion of the economic content of bilateral relations and raising them to the level of their political ties.

The Prime Minister also praised the consensus between Algeria and Serbia on the importance of adhering to international legitimacy and the principles of international law, which have become more threatened than ever due to the worrying spread of hotbeds of tension and the subsequent aggravation of humanitarian and economic crises.

Sifi Gharib emphasized the urgent need for concerted efforts and the necessity of coordination at the bilateral level and in international forums to contribute to international efforts aimed at spreading peace, stability, and development.
