A large number of Algerian exhibitors are participating in the International Food and Drinks Event (IFE) held in London, United Kingdom, from March 30 to April 1. Approximately twenty public and private companies are taking part in this event, determined to establish the “Made in Algeria” brand in the British and European markets, showcasing their products across an area of nearly 200 square meters.
The Algerian pavilion features a diverse range of high-quality products, some of which are widely renowned, such as dates and olive oil, while others are gradually making their way into international markets, including cooking oils, fruits, vegetables, chocolate, and cheeses. These local products also include honey, mineral and sparkling water, and a variety of fresh agricultural products that are highly popular and appreciated in European markets, such as oranges, apples, tomatoes, and peppers.
This significant participation demonstrates a qualitative leap in the development of the national food industry sector and reflects the country’s economic diversification policy. The Algerian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Noureddine Yazid, visited the Algerian pavilion to inspect the working conditions and speak with the exhibitors as well as members of the organizing delegation, led by the Director General of the Algerian Fairs and Exports Company (SAFEX), Karim Boukadoum.
The delegation includes the President of the National Association of Algerian Exporters (ANEXAL), Tarek Boulmerka, the Director General of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chakib Kouidri, as well as officials from the Algerian Economic Renewal Council. Yazid expressed his satisfaction with the growing interest in participating in the International Food and Drinks Event, one of the largest international events dedicated to the food industry, which annually brings together international investors, producers, and distributors.
With the development of national production and the improvement of quality standards, it has become necessary to position the country as a serious, reliable, and influential player in international markets. This highlights the importance of this strategic opportunity to establish new partnerships, open direct export channels, and access the British market.
In this regard, the Ambassador provided valuable advice to the exhibitors regarding the urgent needs of the British economy and the areas that Algerian products could target. He assured them of the embassy’s readiness to support them in their contacts with potential partners and assist them in their efforts to promote non-hydrocarbon exports, in implementation of the directives of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
The various sections of the Algerian pavilion have seen a high turnout since the early hours, with visitors and professionals praising the quality and flavor of the products after tasting samples.
