​Air Algerie to Launch New Routes to Africa, China, and Europe in 2026 Expansion

Algiers – Air Algerie is set to significantly expand its international footprint in 2026, launching regular flights to five African destinations, as well as Shanghai and Warsaw. The expansion follows the national carrier’s strategic fleet renewal program, as announced by CEO Hamza Benhamouda during a press conference on Thursday.​The announcement was made alongside Mokhtar Said Mediouni, CEO of the Algiers Airport Services and Infrastructure Management Company (SGSIA), and Abdelkader Salmi, CEO of Air Algerie Cargo, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a new air cargo hub at Algiers Airport.​Strengthening the African Hub​In mid-June 2026, Air Algerie will launch a direct route connecting Algiers to Libreville (Gabon). This forms part of a broader continental strategy that includes opening routes to four other major African cities this year:​Luanda (Angola)​Maputo (Mozambique)​Accra (Ghana)​Lagos (Nigeria)​Global Reach: China and Europe​Beyond Africa, the airline is targeting the Asian market with a new route to Shanghai, China, scheduled for winter 2026. In Europe, a new connection to Warsaw, Poland, is also on the horizon. Benhamouda noted that the rollout of these routes is closely tied to the delivery schedule of newly acquired aircraft
