President Tebboune Reshuffles Energy and Mining Sectors

Algiers – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune conducted a targeted ministerial reshuffle this Thursday, restructuring the management of the nation’s energy and mineral resources, according to an official statement from the Presidency.​The reshuffle introduces a new hierarchy and specialized roles within these strategic sectors:​Mohamed Arkab: Promoted to the rank of Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons.​Mourad Hanifi: Appointed as the Minister of Mining and Mining Industries.​Karima Tafer: Appointed as Secretary of State to the Minister of Mining and Mining Industries.​Strategic Restructuring​The elevation of Mohamed Arkab to Minister of State signals the high priority the presidency places on the hydrocarbons sector as the backbone of the national economy.
