Algeria and Saudi Arabia Unite for Lasting Peace in the Middle East

Algeria and Saudi Arabia have expressed their shared aspiration for the Middle East ceasefire agreement to serve as a foundation for comprehensive, lasting solutions that restore security and stability across the entire region.

Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf held bilateral talks with his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on the sidelines of the second day of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum.

Attaf reaffirmed Algeria’s full and unwavering solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia following the attacks it endured amid recent military escalation in the Gulf region, echoing sentiments expressed by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune during his phone call with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The two ministers reviewed the latest regional developments in light of the ceasefire agreement, expressing hope it would pave the way toward final settlements ensuring the return of peace to the region.

On bilateral matters, both ministers highlighted the growing momentum of Algerian-Saudi partnership, particularly in the economic sphere, stressing the need to further accelerate cooperation ahead of the inaugural session of the Algerian-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council.
