Algeria’s Finance Minister Holds Key Talks with UN Deputy Secretary-General in New York

Algeria’s Finance Minister Abdelkrim Bouzerzour met in New York with UN Deputy Secretary-General and Chair of the UN Sustainable Development Group, Amina Mohammed, to discuss Algeria’s relationship with the UN development system, on the sidelines of the UN Forum on Development Finance (April 20-24).

Both sides addressed Algeria’s sustained efforts to advance sustainable development and achieve the 2030 Agenda goals at national, regional, and international levels.

The Minister highlighted key initiatives led by Algeria’s finance sector to support national development, including joint projects between the Ministry of Finance and UN agencies operating in Algeria.

Bouzerzour reaffirmed Algeria’s full readiness — particularly in its capacity as current Vice-President and incoming President of the UN Economic and Social Council — to implement the outcomes of the Seville Commitment, endorsed by heads of state last June.
