The wilaya of Tizi Ouzou is undergoing intensive preparations ahead of the launch of the 2026 harvest and threshing season, with local authorities leaving nothing to chance.
The wali of Tizi Ouzou, Aboubekr Seddik Boustta, conducted today a comprehensive inspection tour of the grain storage centers in Draa Ben Khedda and Tadmait, exclusively telling dzwatch that the visit aimed to assess the full readiness of these facilities to receive incoming grain harvests and verify that all required technical conditions are in place to preserve product quality and ensure proper storage.
The inspection also covered an evaluation of storage capacities and the logistical means mobilized to support farmers throughout the collection, transport, and storage operations. Notably, the wilaya has recently been reinforced with three brand-new grain storage centers across the municipalities of Souamaa, Draa El Mizan, and Draa Ben Khedda, significantly boosting the region’s agricultural infrastructure ahead of what is expected to be a critical harvest season.
