Algeria’s Minister of National Education, Mohamed Seghir Saadaoui, has proposed a new operational mechanism to support education sector employees, particularly those with limited incomes, during religious occasions — most notably Eid Al-Adha.
Speaking exclusively to dzwatch, the Minister called for adopting a flexible approach based on thorough study, enabling clear and transparent decisions to be announced to sector workers. The proposed support could take the form of financial grants, facilitated loan formulas, or a combination of both options.
Saadaoui also raised the issue of retired employees who risk losing access to social services due to existing administrative procedures, urging the establishment of a dedicated mechanism to protect this category and ensure they retain their full social benefits.
In this context, the Minister directed relevant ministry departments to organize a technical working session at the earliest opportunity, involving all concerned bodies, to examine appropriate legal frameworks capable of effectively addressing this file.
