Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, Abdelkader Djlaoui, has issued strict directives demanding the immediate removal of all obstacles blocking the launch of the strategic Algiers-Tamanrasset railway line, dzwatch has learned.
During a dedicated working session, Djlaoui reviewed the full scope of preparations for the project’s segments covering the Aghwat-Ghardaïa-Meniaa-Ain Salah-Tamanrasset corridor, addressing field obstacles including right-of-way clearance and network transfers.
The minister told dzwatch that his instructions were unequivocal: “All obstacles must be lifted as soon as possible to guarantee the real launch of this strategic project.”
The mega railway project is considered a cornerstone of Algeria’s national infrastructure vision, linking the north to the deep south and reinforcing territorial development across the Saharan regions.
