Algeria’s meteorological authorities have issued urgent thunderstorm warnings for numerous wilayas across the country, with heavy rainfall expected starting at 3:00 PM Wednesday and continuing through midnight.
The first alert covers the northern and eastern wilayas of Bejaia, Jijel, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Setif, Mila, Constantine, Guelma, Souk Ahras, Tebessa, Oum El Bouaghi, Khenchela, Batna, M’Sila, and Djelfa.
A second alert targets the southern wilayas of Laghouat, Biskra, Ouled Djellal, El Oued, Touggourt, Ghardaia, Ouargla, El Meniaa, In Salah, Illizi, Adrar, Tamanrasset, and Bordj Badji Mokhtar.
Authorities urge citizens in all affected regions to exercise caution and avoid low-lying and flood-prone areas during this period.
