Algeria is pressing ahead with preparations for the historic Trans-Sahara Highway project, as a third Algerian technical team from the National Public Works Enterprise (SNTP) completed a mission in Chad between May 20-23, 2026.
The team joined topography units at the Ngoury-Bol road section — a critical segment of the Trans-Sahara corridor running through Chad — conducting field assessments and logistical groundwork essential to the project’s execution.
Officials told dzwatch that the mission directly implements directives from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between Algeria and Chad, particularly in infrastructure development.
The Trans-Sahara Highway is considered one of Africa’s most strategic connectivity projects, reinforcing Algeria’s leading role in continental integration and South-South cooperation.
