Algeria and DRC Deepen Energy Alliance as Congolese Hydrocarbons Minister Begins Official Algiers Visit

Algiers — Acacia Bandubola Mbongo, the Minister of State and Minister of Hydrocarbons of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), has arrived in Algeria for an official working visit. The diplomatic mission comes at the invitation of Algeria’s Minister of State and Minister of Hydrocarbons, Mohamed Arkab, signaling a new chapter of strategic energy cooperation between the two African nations.

According to official statements from the Algerian Ministry of Hydrocarbons, this high-profile visit aims to deepen bilateral ties and establish a robust partnership framework. Key areas of focus include hydrocarbon exploration, production, refining, petrochemicals, natural gas development, and professional training.

During her stay, Minister Mbongo and her accompanying delegation will engage in a series of technical meetings and field tours. Discussions are scheduled with major stakeholders in the Algerian energy sector, including executives from the state-owned oil and gas giant Sonatrach, the National Agency for the Valorization of Hydrocarbon Resources (ALNAFT), and the Hydrocarbon Regulatory Authority (ARH).

The Congolese delegation, which includes senior officials from the DRC Ministry of Hydrocarbons and the national oil company SONAHYDROC, will also tour several Algerian energy facilities and specialized training institutes. The site visits are designed to showcase Algeria’s extensive expertise across the entire hydrocarbon value chain, offering valuable insights for the DRC’s growing energy sector.
